This was such a treat to read and view!! I'm a tree lover, too, and your words and pics went straight to my heart. So much beauty and wisdom to be found. 🌳🌴🌲

Hello my fellow lover of trees and the stories they show and tell. Beautiful.

How wonderful this is — and what a lot I learned, zine-wise and tree-wise. I want to be ‘zine-wise’ like you, too, so thank you for inspiring me! THIS: “Zines weren’t part of my childhood, but it isn't too late…” The perfect attitude, Rita…bring ‘em on!

Thanks, Bex! Now that I think about it, it's a little like your wonderful, short pieces about objects in your life. I want to write some of those as well.

I am absolutely loving this post as a fellow tree lover! Have you by any chance heard about Goethean Observation? Since I started practicing it, it has shifted my relationship with trees. I had first heard of it via a podcast called Eat Weeds if I am not mistaken. I wish I can join you in these walks and do some tree watching with you. I may possibly feature this post in a future newsletter <3

Thank you, Reema! I apologize for the slow reply. I was back in the woods with no connectivity in my cabin. I don't think I've heard about Goethian Observation. I just read a little about it and look forward to learning more.

I've been listening to a biography of Thoreau and how he interacted with nature, especially a couple of years after Walden, appeals to me on a deep level.

I would treasure your company on these walks, Reema.

Thanks so much for letting me know that we have yet another connection.

No apologies needed! Appreciated knowing you prioritized time with tree friends! I have Thoreau's Walden but never finished reading it, it's been a while. There is a possibility I may move back to the US if I get accepted into an in-person doctorate program. I may either be in Boston, Colorado, or Washington, DC. I will likely find out by March 15 the latest if not earlier so who knows our walk in the woods may actually materialize :-D
